Actor/Comedian Bernie Mac Dead At 50

I'd read that he was admitted into the hospital earlier this week. This is shocking.

I remember the first time I saw him, years ago on Def Comendy Jam. It was his first national exposure. I died laughing. He had that old school style mixed with the edgier urban comedy that was becoming popular at the time.

But the clip below is from his return to Def Comedy Jam. It's one of his best.



Bye, Bernie, you will be missed.

I know. This was so unexpected. I saw a little paragraph yesterday that said he was recovering from pneumonia and it was not related to his chronic lung disease. Damn.

Lord, he could make me laugh, though.

I was stunned when I saw his obit in the paper this morning. He was so young! And so damn funny! It's not fair, this year seems to be the year of great comedians dying.

He'll be missed.
