A moral dilemna, I haz one
So, I have this pic on my harddrive that's been there for about...5 years. I've wanted to make an icon out of it forever.

Here's the thing.

I found it at Deviant Art. There's a name attached to it, I'm assuming it's the artist. I'd have to go look. Or try.

Question: would it be wrong to make an icon out of the art? Cause part of me thinks that it would be. The other part says, "Dude, you've had it for five years, and NOW you quibble??"

So...thoughts?

I usually leave them a comment on DevArt, saying I like the picture and that I would like to make an icon from it. Most times they react and tell me it's okay. And if they don't react at all I create the icon and assume they don't care.

Thing is, I can't find the person!! I tried tonight...maybe I'm not searching right. *pouts*

Maybe if I make it, and they see it, and they throw a fit...then again, maybe they won't...*headdesk*

Wait...if I find the pic on teh googlemonster...then is it up for grabs?

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood. I assume you meant you remember you got it from DevArt but now can't find it again there?

You could create an icon and put something like "Yours? Tell me, I'll credit you" in the text.

And nope, it's not up for grabs when you can find it on teh googlemonster. I mean, you can find almost everything there, including all the copyrighted stuff.
